  1. Hi! Today we’re going to teach you how to prepare milk that is highly nutritious, extremely tasty and 100% pure

a kind of milk that you can make at home in just 10 mins, and use it for many different dishes
Introducing….coconut milk
In the first part of this video, we’ll show you the step-by-step method to prepare coconut milk
Then we’ll learn some quick and tasty recipes that you can make using this milk
And in the second part of this video, we’ll share the 5 most common mistakes we make while preparing coconut milk
Come, let’s first learn how to prepare coconut milk
To prepare this milk, you’ll need to use a coconut with hair
The lighter the colour, the fresher the it is

 2. Which coconut should you use? Not the dry coconut or green coconut

We cannot use them to make coconut milk
Our first job is to break the coconut
Now you can either simply hit it on the ground, or break it into two pieces using a heavy tool
Now we need to take out the white coconut kernel from inside. You can simply take it out with a knife.

Remember, your knife must be sharp

To make this process easier, here’s a bonus tip: you can keep the coconut in the freezer for 15 minutes

Then when you try to take it out with a knife, it’ll come out very easily

When you take out the coconut from the shell, you’ll find a thin brown covering on it. You don’t need to peel this off

Here’s another simple step to take out the coconut kernel – using a coconut scraper

You need to simply hold the coconut steady with one hand and rotate the handle with the other hand.

You can order this coconut scraper from Amazon

To make coconut milk, you need one cup coconut kernel and two cups of water. Always remember this ratio

Add them both to the mixer and blend them for approximately one minute

  3. The water you add to it must be at room temperature

After you have blended it, the mixture should look something like this
Now take a big bowl and place a nut milk bag or muslin cloth over it
Pour the mixture into the bowl and squeeze the cloth with your hands like this. This step is a lot of fun

Our coconut milk is ready!

You can do a lot of interesting things with the leftover pulp in the cloth, which we will show you further in this video

You can store this coconut milk in your refrigerator for 2-3 days. If the milk separates like this, don’t worry

Just shake it once and it will be ready for use again

Now let’s take a look at 3 recipes that you can make with coconut milk in just 5 minutes

The first is banana date shake

Add one cup of coconut milk to your blender, 2 ripe bananas, 3 dates, 2 ice-cubes and a pinch of cinnamon powder

Just blend them together and enjoy it
If you give this to your kids, they won’t be able to resist licking the glass after finishing it
The second is coconut chhaas
Add two cups of coconut milk to your blender, one cup of water,

1/4 cup mint leaves, ½ teaspoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon rock salt, and 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powderJust blend it and serve it chilled

 4. This chhaas is so tasty that whoever tries it once won’t be able to stop at one glass

The third recipe is pumpkin soup

Add 3 cups of coconut milk to your blender and ½ kg of steamed pumpkin with the peel

Then you can add your favourite herbs to it. Our favourites are thyme and rosemary

Add 2 teaspoons dry thyme and ½ teaspoon dry rosemary. Then add 1 tablespoon rock salt and ½ small green chilli
Now simply blend it all together and your thick, creamy soup is ready. Toppings are really important for this dish

Try replacing your dinner with this soup

Everyone including children and elderly will not only be stunned by its colour, but also its taste.

Not just these, you can prepare many other recipes using coconut milk,
such as smoothie bowls, soups, thandais, thai curry, kheer, puddings, ice-creams and a lot more

You can find all these recipes in our Satvic Food Book, which you can order from our website.

Come let’s discuss the 5 common mistakes that we make while preparing coconut milk

The first mistake – we think that coconut milk is very expensive

If we told you that it is the same price of cow milk, you probably wouldn’t believe us

So come, let’s compare the prices. In India, one coconut costs approximately Rs. 40

You can get 2 cups of coconut kernel from one coconut

When you blend this with 4 cups of water, you easily get 1 litre of milk from one coconut

So 1 litre of coconut milk costs only Rs. 40

Let’s compare this to the packaged milk we get in the market today, which costs around Rs. 40-45/litre

And A2 milk is even more expensive. A2 milk costs around Rs. 70-100/litre

So the comparison is in front of you

Second mistake – we think that coconut milk is not as nutritious as cow milk

 6. Have you ever wondered why every birth, every death, every wedding,

every inauguration, every special occasion includes coconuts?

Because our ancestors knew how beneficial and nutritious it is

They knew that if they recommended it to people for health reasons, then maybe people won’t consume it

But by including it in every ritual, coconuts would automatically reach every household one way or another

This is why it is the only fruit known as “Shree Phal” in Sanskrit

 7. Coconut milk is as good as mother’s milk

And this is being proved by many research studies today

Another important thing – coconut shells are so strong that no pesticides or chemicals can be injected into them

This means that the milk produced from it is the safest milk available

The packaged milk that we get is often adulterated with shampoos, detergents,

and God knows what else!

Third mistake – we think that coconut milk has cholestero

Today, many studies have proven that raw coconut has no cholesterol

  8. Coconut is only converted into cholesterol when we cook it

So it is very important that we never cook coconut milk on a flame

If you want to add it to a soup or curry, then always switch off the gas first and then add it

Fourth mistake – buying packaged coconut milk from the store

Try this yourself. Keep homemade coconut in the fridge

You will see that it will spoil within 2-3 days. Along with it, keep some packaged coconut milk in the fridge

Forget 3 days, or 3 months, the packaged milk still won’t spoil even in 3 years

What have they mixed in the packet that increases its shelf life so much?

t of chemicalA los and preservatives,

which may increase the shelf life of the packet, but decrease the shelf life of your own body

Fifth mistake – throwing away the leftover pulp

9.Let’s see what we can do with this leftover pulp

You can use it as a scrub while bathing. Your skin will start glowing

You can mix dates, jaggery, dry fruits and a little bit of cardamom powder to prepare delicious ladoos

You can also use it as manure for your plants. It will be extremely beneficial for their growth

Now you may still have some questions regarding coconut milk

First question – how much coconut milk can I consume in a day?

 10. This depends on your lifestyle

Children, athletes, and those who do intense physical labour, can drink 1-2 glasses every day

You can mix a little bit of jaggery, dates, or dry fruits to make it even tastier

On the other hand, if you’re living a sedentary lifestyle and don’t exercise more than 1 hour a day,

then there’s no need to consume coconut milk separately

You can add it to your soups, salad dressings, curries, and smoothies in smaller quantities

You don’t need to drink it separately

Second question – how can I make tea or coffee using coconut milk?

Look – tea and coffee are both stimulants. They give us a false sense of instant energy.

In the Satvic philosophy, we do not recommend having tea or coffee

But don’t worry! You can prepare a milk-free, tea leaf-free and coffee powder-free, delicious tea and coffee

Yes! Do try the herbal tea and no-coffee cold coffee recipes in our Satvic Food book

Third question – Coconut isn’t available where I live. Is there any alternative that I can use?

  11.  No problem. Instead of coconut milk, you can prepare almond milk

Simply soak 1 cup almonds and take 2 cups of water

Blend them together and as shown earlier, strain it with a muslin cloth. Your almond milk is ready!

Remember, almond milk is a little more difficult to digest than coconut milk,

but it is still a lot easier to digest than cow milk

So we hope that you can switch from animal milk to coconut milk

This divine fruit offers so much to us

coconut water and coconut milk to drink, coconut cream and kernel to eat, oil and scrub to apply

there’s no limit to this invaluable creation of Mother Nature

We offer our deepest gratitude to it from the bottom of our heart, and hope that it brings purity and health to your life
